Harvest elects McClain to board

The Harvest Foundation announced Tuesday the election of a new board member, James McClain II.

McClain, vice president of administration of Southwestern Virginia Gas Co., is a life-long resident of Martinsville and has served on the Education Committee for the Chamber of Commerce, where he served as chairman 2003.  He is also the current chairman of the Workforce Investment Board.

In 2006, McClain was appointed to the Virginia Workforce Council by Gov. Tim Kaine.  He has also served as a Carlisle School trustee.

McLain is a 1999 graduate of Vanderbilt University and resides in Martinsville with his wife, Anna Sands McLain.

Other members of the foundation’s board are Marshall W. Stowe, president; Robert M. Davis, vice president; Simone H. Redd, treasurer; W. D. Prince, III, M.D., secretary; Gracie R. Agnew; Michael P. Haley; Donald R. Hodges; Martha W. Medley; Douglas I. Payne; Leonard S. Poirier, M.D.; Joseph A. Roach; and Paul B. Toms, Jr.
