On stage at Rooster Walk

Fans gather Saturday at the Bassett Furniture Lake Stage at the annual Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival at Pop's Farm near Axton.

A stage purchased with the help of funds from the Harvest Foundation is in use at this weekend's annual Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival at Pop's Farm near Axton.

The Bassett Furniture Lake Stage is one of two stages at the site, and musical performances alternate between them during the four-day event.

As of Saturday afternoon, Rooster Walk co-founder Johnny Buck said the festival likely will exceed the predicted crowd of 4,000 by the time it ends today, Sunday. Attendance was boosted, he said, by perfect weather, great entertainment and support from the local community.

Rooster Walk is a non-profit organization that raises funds for a Martinsville High School scholarship and other area charities.
