Applications are now open for students in Martinsville and Henry County to apply to serve on the Harvest Foundation Youth Board.
The 13-member board is entirely student-run with a focus on youth-related issues in the area. The board can award grants, initiatives or develop projects related to youth issues. They also serve in an advisory capacity to the full Harvest Board of Directors on youth and community issues.
Recent projects organized by the youth board include a $2,500 grant to Richard’s Dinner, an annual Christmas dinner for the community, and plans to organize an annual Thanksgiving eve dinner for the community starting this year.
All applicants must be currently enrolled as a rising sophomore, junior or senior from Martinsville City, Henry County schools or Carlisle School.
The deadline to apply is midnight on March 11. Completed applications must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or mailed to P.O. Box 5183, Martinsville, VA 24112.
