The Harvest Foundation announces two new Directors

At a special Harvest Foundation Board meeting, the Directors elected two additional individuals to join the Board, Leonard Poirier, M.D. and Mrs. Gracie Agnew.?

Dr. Poirier, a radiologist at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County is a native of Fullerton in Orange County, California. He has been a resident of the Martinsville community since 1993.? Prior to moving to Virginia, Dr. Poirier was in practice in Napa in northern California.? He is a member of the economic development Advisory Committee that directed the Market Street Services work and is involved in other civic affairs.? Also elected to the Harvest Board was Gracie Agnew.?

Mrs. Agnew, Director of Instruction for Henry County Schools is a resident of Fieldale, Virginia. Mrs. Agnew obtained her B.A. from Winston-Salem State University and has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech. She is currently working on a Doctorate in Educational and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech. She has served as both a High School principal and a Middle School principal. Mrs. Agnew has served on the Patrick Henry Drug and Alcohol Council, the Community Services Board, the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council and is a founding and current Board member of the Boys and Girls Club.

Donald Hodges, Chairman of the Foundation said, "Dr. Poirier?s medical background and Mrs. Agnew?s work in Education will provide meaningful experience in two of the Harvest Foundations key focus areas as we move forward with programs to help enrich our community."
