Focus, Inc., also called Focus On Youth, was launched in 1976 to provide at-risk youth in the Martinsville/Henry County area with delinquency prevention services. It now serves 400 area youth annually. Focus On Youth engages the County court system, parents, schools, and community volunteers to help youth develop positive attributes and avoid adjudication. Core services include: child abuse and neglect prevention; community service/restitution programs; educational workshops for youth with behavioral problems; and recreational clubs focused on self-esteem and skills development.
