Formed in 2005 with endowment funds carried over from the sale of Memorial Hospital of Martinsville & Henry County, the Martinsville Area Community Foundation (MACF) helps local families establish new endowments for the long-term benefit of the community. As an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Western Virginia, Inc., the MACF currently administers 20 endowment funds ranging from $10,000 to several million dollars. The funds are distributed in grants to nonprofit and charitable organizations and for educational scholarships.
