MARTINSVILLE - Pam Heath is no longer superintendent of Martinsville City Public Schools.

During a special meeting Thursday night, the school board accepted Heath’s retirement following a half-hour closed session called to discuss a personnel matter.

Heath’s retirement was accepted by unanimous vote of the board’s four remaining members. Officials announced that Craig Dietrich has resigned from the board. Dietrich was its vice chairman until earlier this week, when the board chose Lawrence Mitchell to fill that post for the next year.
